Bio

Hello!  My name is Nieshia Mitchell, and I am thrilled to say this is my 16th year teaching elementary school. My philosophy is to teach from the heart while allowing students to discover their own abilities to be a scholar and positive leader in our school community.  I attended undergrad at Fort Valley State University where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education in 2004. I earned a Master’s Degree in both Early Childhood Education (2005) and School Counseling (2014) from Fort Valley State University as well. After completing my first Master’s degree at Fort Valley State University, I attend Troy State University where I received an Educational Specialists Degree in Elementary Education. I am highly qualified in both elementary grades Pre-K-5 and School Counseling Grades Pre-K through 12. My first-year teaching job was at Hunt Elementary School in Fort Valley and I taught fifth grade science, social studies and math. I left Hunt Elementary in 2006 to teach fifth grade at Lindsey Elementary from 2006-2009; after teaching two years at Lindsey, I accepted a transferred to Russell Elementary to teach kindergarten and later second grade and fourth grade and back to kindergarten. I have a son graduated from  Kennesaw State University. I enjoy reading, watching movies, and spending time with my family.
