My teaching journey began in 1995 after serving 10 years in United States Air Force. In 1996 I earned my teaching degree in Elementary Education from the College of Santa Fe in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I taught 2nd grade in New Mexico for 3 years before relocating to Georgia. I taught 1st grade at Pearl Stephens before coming to Russell. In 2004 I earned a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education from Ft. Valley State University. In 2008 I earned an Educational Specialist degree from Troy University in Elementary Education. I became a Library Media Specialist in July 2013 when I earned my Media Specialist Add-On Certificate from Georgia College and State University. I have had the privilege of teaching 2nd,3rd, and 5th grades at Russell. I love reading and spending time with the students at Russell. My mission is to encourage our students to love reading. Reading takes you places!!
